The Unexplained.

As siblings who grew up on either side of nine years, we growled at, yelled at and wrestled each other.

Obviously, then, when we howled like newborns as we hugged at his wedding reception, my brother and I could not explain why.

We still can't.

Much like a nation as diverse, as multifaceted as ours.

A nation that throngs the streets and public squares at even the hint of a difference in opinion.

A nation that squeals and squabbles over so much as a trending hashtag.

A nation that - each year, is left overwhelmed (and even moist-eyed), as the Republic Day parade concludes with the national anthem.

Perhaps, some things mean much more when they are left unexplained.
